MKM set to open its 143rd branch in Luton
A builders’ merchant is expanding its footprint with a new branch set to create jobs and support local trade.
MKM Building Supplies, which is headquartered in Hull, will open its 143rd branch in Luton on March 30, creating 18 new roles and strengthening its presence in a busy regional market.
The new site will offer a full range of building materials, alongside dedicated plumbing, heating, kitchen and bathroom facilities, giving customers access to both structural and finishing products in one place.
A large warehouse will ensure key materials are stored under cover, ready for use on site.
Staffed by an experienced local team, the branch aims to provide tailored support for tradespeople and homeowners across Luton and surrounding areas.
Dan Mansfield, branch development director at MKM Building Supplies, said: “Luton has a really strong trade community and a huge amount of building activity, so it’s a brilliant place for a new MKM branch.
“The team we’ve brought together know the town well and have worked in and around the area for many years.
“That local experience is important because it helps us shape the branch around what customers need.
“One of the things that stands out about Luton is the diversity of the community.
“People from all over the world live and work here and that brings a lot of energy to the town and the local trade.
“As with every MKM branch, the team are keen to become a key part of the community, supporting local initiatives and building long-term relationships with customers and businesses in the area.
“We’re really looking forward to opening.
“Good people, good stock and a branch that’s here to help the local trade get the job done.”
