Croxdale gears up with Chery launch

A North East car dealership is expanding its offering with a new brand launch, creating jobs and investing in upgraded facilities.

Croxdale Group Durham is introducing Chinese automotive brand Chery to its site, alongside a £500,000 investment in a new dedicated showroom currently under construction.

The expansion is set to create four new jobs and strengthens the dealership’s position as one of the region’s fastest-growing automotive groups.

Chery Durham will offer a range of models, including the TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8 and TIGGO 9, spanning hybrid and petrol options, as the brand looks to establish itself in the UK market.

Anthony Rockingham, managing director of Croxdale Group, said: “In China it (Chery) is known for being of high quality and affordable to all, including all the latest technology within vehicle designs that stand out.

“It has already tackled the SUV market with a storm, especially with the TIGGO 8, which gives you seven seats for the price of five. 

“Alongside our MG, Citroën, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, DS Automobiles and Leapmotor offerings, we provide an exciting prospect for new car buyers – where else can you go to find seven brands on one site with dedicated showrooms?”

The addition follows a strong year for Croxdale, which secured multiple industry awards and expanded its portfolio with other emerging global brands.

Founded in 1997, Chery has built a significant international presence and is now targeting growth in Europe with a focus on value, innovation and hybrid technology.

Anthony added: “The range will particularly appeal to families and SUV buyers looking for a practical, well-equipped vehicle, as well as those making the transition to hybrid driving.

“With models like the Chery TIGGO 7 and Chery TIGGO 9 offering impressive space, comfort and efficiency, we’re confident the brand will resonate strongly with motorists seeking maximum value without sacrificing quality.
