Off-road event drives £5000 for charity

A Yorkshire charity has raised thousands of pounds through a fundraising event combining team challenges and off-road driving experiences.

The Principle Trust Children’s Charity secured more than £5000 following a collaborative event with Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire at Broughton Hall Estate near Skipton.

Teams took part in a day of activities including geocaching, driving challenges and off-road competitions, designed to test accuracy, strategy and teamwork using Land Rover vehicles.

All entry fees from the event were donated directly to the charity, with additional support from Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire and The Bull at Broughton helping to maximise funds raised.

Mike Davies MBE, founder of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, said: “This event was a hugely proud moment for the charity.

“Bringing teams together for a day packed with activities that encouraged teamwork was fantastic.

“A special thank you to the directors of Land Rover Experience who kindly supported the charity with the experience day - Nick and Jonathan Rumboll.

“It was made even more special thanks to Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire and its instructors, who made sure everyone got involved, all with the same goal of raising vital funds for families across Yorkshire.”

Founded in 2011, the charity provides respite breaks for children facing adversity, including those affected by poverty, illness and trauma.

Operating across sites in Blackpool, Filey and the Lake District, it now supports hundreds of families each year through its network of respite homes.

The fundraising total will help the organisation continue delivering breaks that offer children a chance to recharge and enjoy new experiences.
