Contractor builds book with factory conversion
A building contractor has strengthened its order book with an industrial base project.
Castle has refurbished a 50,000sq ft unit at Boldon Business Park.
The contract saw the firm convert the space into a factory, office and warehouse site.
Formerly used by vehicle parts maker Faltec Europe, the base has been fitted with new roofing, wall cladding and roller shutters, with further upgrades across service yards, car parking areas and access roads.
Castle, based in Hebburn, South Tyneside, secured the work through UK Land Estates.
Craig Muldoon, Castle build divisional director, said: “Sustainability was a key focus, with measures such as energy-efficient lighting and building systems, improved thermal performance and responsible material sourcing and waste management practices.
“We are very pleased to have completed a major contract close to our offices in South Tyneside.”
Adrian Bartle, UK Land Estates construction director, added: “Castle has provided us with a high-quality industrial development designed to support modern operational requirements.”
