NEPO appoints procurement manager
North East-based public sector procurement organisation NEPO has appointed Ruth Long as procurement manager to strengthen its leadership team.
Ruth brings experience across both the private sector and central government, having built her career in procurement and played a key role in developing major public sector solutions.
She most recently led the development of NEPRO Innovation, a large-scale procurement solution designed to support public sector buyers and suppliers across the UK.
In her new role, Ruth will support delivery of NEPO’s £1.3 billion procurement programme as the organisation continues to enhance its offering to the public sector.
Ruth said: “Public procurement, done well, has the power to transform public services and deliver real value for communities and that has always been what drives me.
“I am incredibly proud to be taking on this role at such an exciting time for the organisation.”
Nicola Shelley, managing director at NEPO, added: “Ruth’s contribution over the past three years has been instrumental in shaping who we are today, and her leadership will be central to how we grow in the future.
“We need people who combine deep public sector expertise with the ability to think boldly and Ruth does both exceptionally well.”
