Kitchen maker cooks up growth plans with funding boost
A kitchen manufacturing and distribution business is set to accelerate its expansion following multi-million-pound funding.
Danesmoor Group has secured £14.7 million Lloyds' support to drive its plans over the next three years.
The funding has enabled the company to complete its move to a new EPC A-rated headquarters in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, alongside investment in advanced manufacturing and worktop fabrication capabilities.
A new ceramic worksurfaces line has also been introduced, improving efficiency and doubling production capacity.
Additional funding has supported product development, with 14 new launches in the past year.
Chris Wragg, managing director, said: “The sector has faced significant headwinds over the past few years.
“What’s enabled us to buck that trend is our ability to invest even when times are tough, and the diversification of the business to serve multiple customer types across all main routes to market.
“Lloyds really understood what we were trying to achieve with this investment programme and backed our vision.
“The Danesmoor Group has always been an innovator, whether that's new product ranges, more efficient manufacturing processes or innovative service propositions.
“The business has always been about staying ahead of the market and this funding ensures we can continue doing that into the future.”
The company has grown by 13 per cent year-on-year and is targeting revenues of more than £100 million by 2028.
It employs around 400 people and has expanded its workforce with new roles, alongside continued investment in skills and regional supply chains.
Adam Cackett, relationship director at Lloyds, added: “Danesmoor is a brilliant example of how family-run businesses with deep heritage can continue to thrive by staying ahead of market trends and investing in innovation.
“Their growth aspirations speak volumes about the strength of their model and forward-thinking approach.
“It’s a privilege to support businesses like this as they grow, create local jobs and contribute to the regional economy.”
