Story Homes steps up to the crease
A North East housebuilder is strengthening its community ties through a new grassroots sports sponsorship.
Story Homes has become the front-of-shirt sponsor for the Ladies team at Backworth Cricket Club ahead of the upcoming season, supporting the growth of women’s cricket locally.
The sponsorship reflects the developer’s presence in the area, with its upcoming Killingworth Gate scheme recently securing planning approval for 169 homes.
Story Homes has previously delivered homes nearby, reinforcing its connection to the community.
It also builds on wider support for women’s sport, following recent backing of a North Tyneside-based football team.
By investing in local initiatives, Story Homes aims to support both community wellbeing and sporting opportunities, while strengthening relationships in areas where it is delivering new homes.
Kye Bradley, North East sales director at Story Homes, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Backworth Cricket Club Ladies team and to be their front-of-shirt sponsor this season.
“Supporting local clubs is incredibly important to us, particularly in areas where we are building new homes, such as Killingworth Gate.
“It’s great to be able to give back, champion women’s sport and connect more closely with the community as the development progresses.”
Dan Carr, ladies coach at Backworth Cricket Club, added: “We’re extremely grateful to Story Homes for their support.
“Having a local business sponsor our Ladies team makes a real difference, not just financially but in terms of confidence and visibility for women’s cricket at the club.
“The new shirts look fantastic, and it’s great to build a relationship with a company that genuinely cares about the local community.”
