Software firm grows with Scottish operator deal
A software firm has expanded with a takeover.
IntelliAM has bought the business and assets of RBM Lubrications & Monitoring Solutions.
The company, based at Dinnington, near Rotherham, says the move for the Scottish operator will “strengthen its capabilities and presence in the central belt” north of the border.
They add it will allow IntelliAM to deploy its artificial intelligence and machine learning – used by firms to manage productivity and operating costs – across Scotland’s manufacturing and engineering sector.
Under the terms of the deal, seven RBM staff have transferred to IntelliAM alongside engineering assets and vehicles.
Brian Sarginson, founder of RBM – which is known for operating from a base in Kilwinning, near Kilmarnock – has taken on the role of IntelliAM Scotland vice president.
Tom Clayton, IntelliAM chief executive, said the agreement formalises a long-standing relationship between the two businesses.
He said: “Having worked closely for more than seven years, this is a natural and important step for both businesses.
“It strengthens our presence in the central belt of Scotland, a key hub for UK manufacturing, and enhances our ability to deploy our advanced intelligent asset management solutions at scale.”
Brian added: “This transaction brings together deep domain expertise in lubrication and reliability with IntelliAM’s artificial intelligence capabilities.
“This combination will deliver substantial value to customers across Scotland and beyond.”
IntelliAM last year expanded into the building products sector, securing contracts with firms including Marshalls and Tarmac.
It also counts food and drink producers Hovis, Müller and Mars among its client base.
