Housing provider drives on with fleet investment
A housing association says it is primed to accelerate its green credentials following a vehicle investment.
Gentoo is rolling out a fresh look across its 320-plus van fleet.
Bosses at the Sunderland-headquartered operator say the move means ten per cent of its vehicles are now fully electric, which will help cut emissions while “improving efficiency for customers and delivering a reliable service”.
They add the outlay has also improved vehicle storage.
The upgrade has been carried out alongside Volkswagen Financial Services, Qi Van Systems and Sherwoods Motor Group.
James Haste, Gentoo director of property maintenance, said: “Our new fleet reflects who we are as an organisation: modern, ambitious and focused on the future.
“By introducing more electric vehicles, improving comfort for colleagues and upgrading the tools our teams rely on every day, we’re reducing our environmental impact while delivering a more efficient service for customers.”
Jimmy Ram, Qi Van Systems’ key account manager, added: “By combining efficient storage solutions with modern vehicle specifications, we’ve delivered a conversion designed to enhance productivity, reliability and overall user experience.
“It’s great to see these vehicles out on the road, supporting Gentoo’s teams and the communities they serve.”
