Accountancy firm grows with French acquisition
An accountancy and advisory firm is expanding across the Channel with a takeover.
S&W has agreed a deal to buy Paris-based accountancy firm Vachon.
Bosses say the move “marks a significant milestone in S&W’s international expansion strategy”.
Founded in 1997, Vachon provides audit, accounting, tax, payroll and advisory services to SMEs, mid-sized businesses and large international groups.
Employing a 60-strong bilingual team, it also works with family offices, private investors, investment funds and portfolio companies.
Under the terms of the deal, Vachon will continue to operate under its existing brand.
Andrew Wilkes, chief executive at S&W – whose UK office estate includes sites in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle – said: “France is a key market for many of our clients.
“Vachon’s deep expertise, bilingual capabilities and strong reputation for technical excellence make it an ideal partner.
“The team’s specialist knowledge of French accounting requirements complements our existing offering and strengthens our ability to support clients expanding into Europe.”
Bertrand Vachon, founding partner at Vachon, added: “Joining S&W marks an exciting new chapter for our firm and our clients.
“It is the natural evolution of our international strategy.
“Becoming part of S&W expands the support we can offer to clients across multiple markets.”
The French move comes after S&W last year expanded with two Irish acquisitions.
