Bottled water firm supplier pledge over factory plan
A bottled water firm has promised a supplier boost as it pushes to secure a 50-plus job factory expansion.
Harrogate Spring Water says plans to bolster its production base would help more than half its suppliers double contract revenue.
Bosses say Leeds-based operators could see annual spend increase by 89 per cent to more than £16 million, with other firms across West and East Yorkshire tipped to see combined spend double from £3.5 million to £6.9 million.
North Yorkshire Council is set to decide on the plans – which Harrogate Spring Water says would also boost recruitment and cleaning services firms – in the coming days.
Ian Swann, Harrogate Spring Water operations director, said: “We have a long history of working with suppliers in Yorkshire and across the North.
“The vast majority of what we use every day is already sourced regionally, and our expansion plans would increase demand across our supply chain as part of normal operations, keeping more value in the local economy.”
