Engineer gets in gear with bus depot development
A civil and structural engineering firm is driving ahead with a transport sector deal.
HJ Consulting Engineers is supporting a multi-million-pound bus depot development at Scarborough Business Park.
Bosses say the site – set to be completed later this year and used by Go-Ahead Group – will include 80 bus parking bays, an office, car park and 12 electric vehicle charging points.
They add it will “support the shift to electric fleets… and has been engineered to accommodate further low-carbon technologies and renewable energy”.
Wakefield-based HJ Consulting Engineers – which has secured an undisclosed contract on the project – is providing technical and consultancy support to property developer and investor Good REIT.
Andrew Fairburn, HJ Consulting Engineers’ managing director, said: “This represents a significant investment in local infrastructure and sustainable transport, enhancing facilities within Scarborough Business Park and supporting future growth in the region.”
Peter Walden, Good REIT director, added: “We are delivering a highly sustainable transport facility that has been specifically designed to support the transition to electric bus fleets.”
