Healthcare firm receives tonic as founders return
A healthcare firm has been reacquired by its founders.
Professor Prasad Godbole and John McMullan have swooped to buy back Pioneer Healthcare.
The duo say the move sees them “return to their roots”, adding they will lead the Sheffield-based company with a “long-term, people-first vision”.
The deal marks a return to independent ownership for the business after a 2022 sale.
Known for providing secondary NHS care support, Pioneer Healthcare works with hospitals, commissioners and trusts to provide elective care, dermatology and therapy services, holding contracts with foundation trusts and integrated care boards.
Prof Godbole, co‑founder and chief executive, said: “Our heart has always been with Pioneer Healthcare.
“We are incredibly proud to lead the company into its next chapter.
“We’re excited to bring renewed focus, agility and long‑term commitment to its future.”
Pioneer Healthcare was advised on the deal by Manchester-based Bamburgh Capital, with law firm Trowers providing further support.
Alex Clarkson, Bamburgh Capital co-founder, added: “With the founders back at the helm, we are looking forward to seeing them build a stronger future for the business.”
