North East start-up sparks award recognition
A North East electrical engineering start-up is gaining industry recognition after rapid growth in its first year of trading.
Robinson HVPD has been shortlisted in the Business-to-Business StartUp of the Year category at the UK StartUp Awards for the North East, Yorkshire and The Humber.
Founded in 2025, the firm specialises in high-voltage electrical engineering and power distribution, supporting construction, utilities and industrial clients.
The business has already delivered more than 80 projects, reflecting strong demand for specialist expertise driven by growth in data centres, renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure.
Connor Robinson, chief executive and founder of Robinson HVPD, said: “Delivering over 80 projects in our first year is something we’re incredibly proud of.
“It highlights the growing demand for specialist high-voltage expertise across the UK.
“We’ve built the business around strong values, high standards and the right people, and being named a finalist is a great reflection of the team’s hard work.
“We’re looking forward to representing the region at the next stage.”
Regional winners will advance to the national final at Ideas Fest in Hertfordshire this September.
