Community Foundation appoints deputy CEO
South Yorkshire-based grant-giving charity South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) has appointed Michelle Dickinson as deputy chief executive.
Michelle, who joined the organisation in 2019, also takes on the role of head of partnerships and programmes.
She was previously head of philanthropy and programmes and has played a key role in delivering major funding initiatives.
During her time at SYCF, she led responses to the 2019 and 2023 flood appeals, helping to raise more than £1.5 million, and secured £1 million in donations during the cost-of-living crisis.
In her new role, she will focus on developing strategic partnerships to connect donors with community needs across the region.
Michelle said: “I am incredibly proud to be appointed as deputy chief executive of South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation.
“I love working for the Foundation and take great pride in connecting our generous donors with community need, enabling South Yorkshire to thrive.
“I’m excited to get started in this new role and to continue building partnerships that make a real and lasting difference.
“I have a such a strong passion for supporting our communities and ensuring that vital funding reaches the people and organisations who need it most.”
Martin Singer, chief executive of SYCF, added: “This is a key appointment for the Community Foundation.
“Michelle has already made an outstanding contribution to SYCF in her seven-year tenure, and her promotion to deputy chief executive reflects both her achievements and her commitment to South Yorkshire.
“She is a tremendous asset to the team, and this appointment strengthens our leadership as we continue to grow our impact.
“Michelle’s skills, experience and extensive network of contacts across the region will help us to maximise opportunities and deliver even greater support to our communities.”
