Eyoto appoints interim chief executive

Birmingham-based medtech company Eyoto has appointed Tony Veverka as interim chief executive as it continues to grow in the teleoptometry sector.

Tony steps into the role after serving as a board advisor since 2025 and brings extensive experience across healthcare and medtech.

He previously held senior leadership roles in the UK and US, including CEO of Ultralase Eye Clinics during a period of rapid growth, and began his career at Bupa.

Alongside his role at Eyoto, he also serves as chair at BioID Health.

Tony’s appointment comes as Eyoto builds on the success of its AI-enabled optical technology, supporting the delivery of remote eyecare services and expanding access to high-quality clinical assessment.

Tony said: “Eyoto is transforming the way eye care is delivered and it’s fantastic to be leading the company during this exciting stage in its journey as we scale the business ever further.

“Our ambition is to expand access to high-quality eye examinations globally, and we’ve already been making waves in both the UK and US markets.”
