Work set to begin on 54-home Pudsey scheme
A new housing scheme in West Yorkshire is set to deliver a range of homes as part of a growing regional pipeline.
Caddick Construction has been appointed to deliver a 54-home development in Pudsey on behalf of Leeds Federated Housing Association.
The £13.9 million scheme at Owlcotes Road will include a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, available for shared ownership and affordable rent.
The project marks Caddick’s first scheme with Leeds Federated and adds to its growing pipeline of housing developments across the region, including sites in York, Hull and Wakefield.
Environmental measures are also in place, with a construction management plan introduced to reduce impact during the build phase.
Steve Ford, regional managing director of Caddick Construction North East and Yorkshire, said: “Our appointment to Owlcotes Road reflects our continued commitment to providing high-quality, affordable homes across Yorkshire, supporting local housing needs and creating lasting value for residents.
“The project is also a great example of our integrated approach, with our civil engineering team supporting the groundwork phase to help ensure a smooth and efficient delivery.
“As a registered partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we’re committed to being a respectful neighbour, ensuring our activities are carefully managed and that we communicate openly with the local community throughout the project.
“From the outset, we’ve worked closely with Leeds Federated to put in place a robust construction environmental management plan to minimise our impact during the build.”
Georgina Nijjar, head of development at Leeds Federated, added: “The development at Owlcotes Road, once completed, will provide new affordable homes in Pudsey.
“The homes are being designed to be energy efficient and sustainable. Each home will include energy saving features, such as solar PV panels, air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, to help support residents to minimise energy costs and reduce the carbon footprint.
“We’ve ensured that green spaces will be created for residents to enjoy.
“We are working closely with Caddick Construction on the delivery of this site, with support from Homes England via Accent Housing’s Strategic Partnership.
“As the project progresses, our focus will be on building high-quality homes while minimising the impact on those already living nearby.”
