No drama as Fuse builds on Bridgerton links
The North East team responsible for connecting the cast and crew of record-breaking Netflix drama Bridgerton is ready to write the next chapter in its own success story.
Data connectivity specialist Fuse has forged a sector-wide reputation for supplying seamless production support to a series of hit films and TV shows.
And after delivering fast and reliable remote networks to cast and crew on location shoots across the UK, the Newcastle-based firm has set its sights on the bigger picture.
“The boom in TV production in this country has had a positive knock-on effect for small businesses nationwide,” explains Elliot Leese, Operations Director at Fuse.
“We’ve been very lucky to play a small part in the early success of Bridgerton and a number of other shows.
“When production teams arrive on site they know that one of the first things cast and crew will search for is high speed, secure Wi-Fi.
“Fuse’s network setup is seamless — in a very short space of time we can provide the mobile data networks that are vital to the success of modern-day TV production.
“Feedback has been incredibly positive so far and we’re actively seeking to grow our experience in the creative industries.”
Fuse has worked on The Witcher, Sex Education, Will, Hanna and The Electric Life of Louis Wain.
Elliot and colleagues minimise disruption to filming while maximising connectivity — even in remote locations previously viewed as data dead spots.
And as more multi-national TV and film studios look to base their productions in the UK, Fuse is perfectly placed to plug the connectivity gap.
“I’m a huge fan of Bridgerton and I’d like to say we have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the cast when we look to establish networks for production crews,” adds Elliot.
“The reality is we’re in and out before anything gets going so that filming can start on time, on day one and everyone can be confident that they’ll stay connected throughout the shoot.
“Our job is to keep production teams, guests and operations online without the need for any fixed infrastructure or any unnecessary interference.
“Working on Bridgerton in the early days was a fantastic opportunity but I’m still waiting for an autograph… let alone an audition!”
In 2024 — following the screening of Bridgerton’s third series — Netflix bosses revealed the period drama had pumped more than £275m into the British economy.
Series four aired earlier this year and that figure is now believed to be in excess of £350m... and rising.
Speaking before the filming of series four, Bridgerton creator Sonda Rhimes CBE said: “The Bridgerton universe occupies a special space in culture, resonating with young and old alike, creating conversation, starting trends and influencing everything from baby names to weddings.
“The shows have also had a seismic impact on the UK economy, boosting it by a quarter of a billion pounds between 2020 and 2024 and supporting thousands of jobs and businesses.
“It is clear that the business of art and culture can make a huge economic contribution to local communities. I could not be prouder.”
The provision of film and TV location W-Fi is just one strand of Fuse’s data connectivity and integrated Wi-Fi arm.
One of the UK’s fastest-growing data connectivity firms also provides primary and backup connectivity solutions, Wi-Fi for commercial spaces and construction site connectivity.
Elliot adds: “Safe and secure networks are part and parcel of everyday life in 2026. Staying connected with confidence is key.”
