Ramboll appoints buildings director
London-based engineering consultancy Ramboll has appointed Darren Carlile as director within its buildings division.
Darren brings more than 35 years’ experience, including 24 years as a Royal Engineer officer, and joins from AECOM where he led its defence and national security sector.
In his new role, he will lead growth and sales across transformation and public services, with a focus on national security, government and research sectors.
Darren’s appointment supports Ramboll’s continued expansion as it strengthens its work with government and defence organisations across the UK.
Darren said: “I am delighted to have joined Ramboll.
“I was already well-aware of their reputation for excellence thanks to my time in industry and I am excited to have the opportunity to contribute my own skills, knowledge and experience to support with further growth.
“Ramboll’s values-based, purpose-driven approach aligns perfectly with my own, as does their longstanding commitment to the values of the Armed Forces Covenant.
“This is a time of significantly increased Government spending on a range of critical areas including National Security and Defence.
“Ramboll’s multi-disciplinary expertise will stand us in good stead with ensuring that these investments provide a sustainable benefit for both our clients and wider society.”
Jason Layfield, executive director – buildings at Ramboll, added: “Darren’s leadership and depth of experience make him an important addition to Ramboll in the UK and Ireland.
“We have a strong track record of working with government departments on innovative projects around the world, and I look forward to working with Darren to build on those foundations.
“In a fast-moving world, we remain committed to ensuring that we have the right expertise and skills to meet our clients’ needs, by targeted senior leadership appointments and strategic acquisitions.”
