Lookers drives CUPRA expansion in Newcastle
An automotive dealership is shifting up a gear with a new flagship site in Newcastle, bringing two major brands under one roof.
Lookers has opened a new standalone showroom on Railway Street, combining CUPRA and SEAT in a purpose-built facility close to the city centre.
The site marks the group’s fourth investment in the CUPRA brand and its only authorised dealership in Newcastle.
Lee Swindells, franchise director at Lookers, said: “We’re thrilled to bring one of the world’s greatest brands to a world class city, delivering real choice and value to the people of Newcastle.
“This outstanding new dealership marks a major investment in the brands and in the city and the feedback we’ve received so far has been fantastic.
“Congratulations to our outstanding local team for a supercharged official opening event.”
“This is an incredibly exciting time to be expanding our partnership with the CUPRA brand, and we’re beyond thrilled that customers in Newcastle can immediately benefit from a next-generation dealership that reflects the style, passion, performance and innovation of CUPRA.”
The showroom features a full range of CUPRA models, including the Formentor, Born, Terramar, Tavascan and Leon, alongside SEAT vehicles such as the Ibiza, Arona and Leon.
CUPRA continues to see rapid growth across the UK, with sales reaching 41,000 vehicles last year, reflecting increasing demand for its design-led, technology-focused models.
Claire English, head of sales for CUPRA and SEAT UK, added: “Welcoming Newcastle to our growing CUPRA family marks a key milestone as part of our nationwide expansion and the warmth of the welcome we’ve received in the city has been beyond our expectations.
“Our strong partnership with Lookers reflects our commitment to delivering outstanding customer service built on experience and an outstanding reputation and we’re looking forward to continued growth together.”
