Accountancy firm expands into Yorkshire with merger

A Midlands-based accountancy and advisory firm has expanded into Yorkshire through a strategic merger.

Hayward Wright has merged with Leeds-based independent practice Auker Rhodes, marking its first move beyond the Midlands.

The deal follows a period of growth for Hayward Wright, including recent acquisitions in Birmingham and Cannock.

Founded in 2010 by Grant Rudloff, Richard Kenyon and Richard Doyle, Auker Rhodes provides accountancy and advisory services to owner-managed businesses, SMEs and individuals across Yorkshire.

Bosses say the merger will allow the firm to scale its operations, with access to new technology, broader expertise and additional specialist services.

As part of the deal, Grant will continue to lead the Leeds office from Yeadon, while Richard Kenyon and Richard Doyle will remain involved in a consulting capacity.

Alistair Hayward-Wright, director and head of acquisitions at Hayward Wright, said: “This is an exciting new chapter for the Hayward Wright group as we expand our footprint and presence beyond the Midlands and into Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region.

“Merging with like-minded practices across the UK is a key part of our strategic growth plan, and from the outset, we knew that Auker Rhodes was a great fit.

“Grant, Richard, and Richard have built an outstanding practice with a talented team that focuses on long-term client relationships backed by excellent service delivery.”

Grant added: “We are delighted to be merging with Hayward Wright as we continue to develop and grow our practice here in Leeds.

“We have always been committed to providing exceptional service and advice to our clients, and this will not change.

“Merging with Hayward Wright and joining the wider group will only bring additional benefits to our clients and our team.

“It will also enable us to grow our footprint as we leverage the wider Hayward Wright network of offices across the Midlands region, and we are looking forward to working together as one team.”
