North East firms invited to free cyber event
With cybercrime becoming a growing concern for businesses and new compliance requirements placing increasing pressure on employers, accountancy firm Robson Laidler is hosting an event to help business owners better protect their organisations.
The upcoming RL Business Club event, Safeguarding Your Business, will take place on Thursday, May 7 at the Newcastle United Foundation between 4:00pm to 6:30pm.
The session will bring together experts from across business advisory, payroll, HR and cybersecurity to share practical guidance on identifying gaps in your processes, improving controls, and putting the right safeguards in place as your business grows, covering areas such as business processes, payroll accuracy, and HR compliance.
Alongside speakers from the Robson Laidler team, Bob McKay, cyber & infosec director at Aspire Technology Solutions, will present an exciting talk about how he hacked a business in four hours using only publicly available information.
He will also discuss key lessons businesses can implement into their security strategy in order to keep their business safe from cyber threats.
This free event is aimed towards business owners and leaders who want to reduce risk across their business, and is a great opportunity to network with both other local business owners.
All attendees will also receive a ten per cent off voucher for the Newcastle United Football Club store.
Anyone who would like to attend can register for free via Robson Laidler’s Eventbrite page here.
