Premier Modular ramps up production
An East Yorkshire-based manufacturer is increasing production capacity and creating new jobs as demand for modular construction continues to grow.
Premier Modular has extended its factory operating hours, moving towards round-the-clock production to meet rising demand for its offsite building solutions.
The shift forms part of a phased expansion that will significantly boost output over the coming months.
Production hours are set to increase by around 1000 hours per week by May, rising to approximately 1600 hours per week from July, representing a more than 300 per cent increase from April levels.
To support the expansion, the company expects to create between 40 and 50 new roles across its factory operations.
Recruitment will cover a range of positions, including joiners, forklift truck drivers, quality controllers and supervisors.
Alongside new hires, Premier Modular is also looking to expand its apprenticeship programme and provide development opportunities for existing employees, supporting progression into leadership roles.
David Harris, managing director at Premier Modular, said: “This growth is not just about increasing output, it is about investing in people.
“The decision to extend Premier Modular’s operations reflect both the scale of our future pipeline of work, and our dedication to developing our team.
“We aim to ensure a smooth transition into our next phase of growth, while maintaining our high standards of quality and delivery.
“We remain committed to innovating, advancing and providing jobs that can develop skills and offer long-term career pathways, including through apprenticeships.
“We’re on a growth journey, and we want the local community to be part of that journey too.”
