Appliance maintenance firm grows with takeover
A domestic appliance repair firm has expanded with a takeover.
Pacifica has bought Screwfix Spares’ Repaircare business.
Officials say the move “significantly” expands County Durham-based Pacifica’s national offer and bolsters existing manufacturer and retailer partnerships.
Under the terms of the deal, more than 35 back-office and operational staff will switch to Pacifica, with about 120 subcontracted engineers moving to Pacifica’s network.
Pacifica – based in Houghton-le-Spring, near Sunderland – has also taken all Repaircare client contracts and operational activities, which bosses say include “high-profile” partnerships with retailers and manufacturers that collectively account for about 80,000 jobs a year.
The Repaircare brand will move into the company’s Appliance Services division.
Rob Johnson, Pacifica Appliance Services’ managing director, said: “This represents a significant step forward in our continued growth.
“Repaircare has built strong relationships with leading retailers and manufacturers, and we are delighted to welcome its customers and operational teams into the Pacifica family.”
Dan Monaghan, Screwfix Spares’ chief executive, added: “This move allows Screwfix Spares to remain focused on its core business, supplying spare parts and accessories that keep products in use for longer.”
