Vehicle repairs firm 'set to drive on' after 35-site deal
A vehicle maintenance firm says it is in gear for further growth after completing a takeover.
Formula One Autocentres has bought 35 ATS Euromaster bases.
Bosses say the “milestone” move has secured more than 130 jobs and leaves the 170-site family-run business on target to hit a 250-garage goal.
The deal covers bases across England and Wales and includes sites in Aldershot, Blackpool, Morley, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Uttoxeter, Wrexham and Yeovil.
Under the terms of the agreement, IT and e-commerce platforms are set to be transferred to Stevenage-headquartered Formula One Autocentres over the Bank Holiday weekend, with garage refurbishment work and rebranding planned for the next three months.
Jon Butcher, managing director at Formula One Autocentres, which carries out MOTs, vehicle servicing and tyre, battery, brake and clutch repairs, said: “This will help the business scale rapidly.
“The acquisitions position us as the UK’s largest independent autocentre network, a position we will look to reinforce with more new centres in the pipeline.”
The deal includes further ATS Euromaster sites in Bury, Hinckley, Newmarket, Port Talbot, Preston, South Shields, Stafford, Wallsend and Sandown, on the Isle of Wight.
