Samson flies high after investment
An aviation services firm is reaching new heights after investment helped deliver a record start to the year.
Samson Executive Jet Centre, based at Newcastle International Airport, has recorded a 15 per cent increase in activity in the first quarter of 2026.
The growth follows recent investment in new ground handling equipment, enabling the business to support a wider range of aircraft.
Paula Ives, general manager at Samson Executive Jet Centre, said: “We have a highly trained team here at Samson, dedicated to delivering world-class levels of customer service to all of our business partners, and we are delighted to have achieved a record-breaking start to the year.
“The continued growth in our operations demonstrates our ability to meet rising demand and support clients and businesses across the North East, the wider UK and internationally.
“Our recent investment has put us in a strong position to deliver our long-term growth plans and we continue to welcome discussions with airlines and businesses looking to partner with Samson.”
Samson has built a reputation for delivering premium aviation services, handling VIP charters, sports teams, cargo and specialist aircraft movements.
Recent customer wins, including Turkish Airlines and Air Europa, have further strengthened its position, as it continues to expand its offering while maintaining a personalised service.
Operating 24/7, Samson focuses on safety, reliability and flexibility, supporting operators across the UK.
Leon McQuaid, director of aviation development at Newcastle Airport, added: “Samson Executive Jet Centre’s strongest-ever start to the year is a clear example of how targeted investment and operational excellence are helping to drive growth at Newcastle Airport.
“As a key business partner, Samson plays a vital role in supporting private charter operations, handling specialist cargo and enabling businesses to connect with global markets.
“We look forward to building on this success, further strengthening the airport’s position as a leading international gateway and driving more investment and economic growth across the region.”
