SHC secures B Corp certification
A Kent-based communications firm has achieved a globally recognised sustainability accreditation.
Suzanne Howe Communications (SHC), a business-to-business PR agency, has become a certified B Corporation, joining a global network of companies committed to using business as a force for good.
The certification, awarded by non-profit B Lab, recognises organisations that meet high standards of performance across areas including governance, workers, community and the environment.
It also requires businesses to embed purpose beyond profit into their operations.
SHC now joins more than 10,000 certified B Corps worldwide, including a rapidly growing UK community spanning a wide range of industries.
Suzanne Howe, founder and managing director of the eponymous SHC, said: “As we celebrate 30 years in business, we are thrilled to announce that SHC has achieved B Corp™ certification.
“Certification means that we meet B Lab’s integrated social, environmental and governance standards.
“This embeds our purpose and plans for positive impact in our company’s DNA, so that we’re aware of our impact on people and the planet.
“This achievement says so much about our loyal and talented team, as well as our clients and the industries we serve.”
Chris Turner, chief executive of B Lab UK, added: “Welcoming SHC to the B Corp community is hugely exciting.
“Its commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and will help spread the notion that success in business is as much about people and planet as it is profit.”
