Stellanor grows network with Redcentric deal
A data centre provider has grown its network with the addition of new sites to support rising demand for AI-ready infrastructure.
Stellanor Datacenters, backed by the global investment manager DWS, has completed the acquisition of eight data centres from Redcentric, adding around 450 enterprise customers to its portfolio.
The deal takes the company’s total to 11 sites across the UK.
Its expanded network includes locations in London, Cambridge, Reading and West Yorkshire, strengthening Stellanor’s position in urban data centre provision.
It now operates with significant grid capacity to support high-performance digital infrastructure.
The acquisition forms part of Stellanor’s strategy to build a national platform of data centres capable of supporting advanced workloads, including artificial intelligence, machine learning and real-time analytics.
Following completion, the company is rolling out upgrades across its sites, including enhanced cooling systems, improved connectivity and higher-density power capabilities.
Stellanor’s approach focuses on repurposing existing urban sites to reduce environmental impact while delivering low-latency infrastructure close to businesses.
Michael Tobin CBE, chairman of the board at Stellanor, said: “This acquisition represents a transformative step in building the UK's leading urban data center platform.
“We’ve scaled from two to eleven facilities in nine months, backed by the infrastructure fund managed by DWS Group.
“This enables Stellanor to serve the accelerating demand for enterprise colocation and AI-ready infrastructure across the UK, with further expansion into Ireland and the Nordic regions planned.
“We’re building the platform for a digital future that’s close to the businesses and people who depend on it.”
Michelle Senecal De Fonseca, chief executive of Redcentric plc, added: “This divestment allows Redcentric to solely focus on our core managed services business at a pivotal time for our customers.
“As a dedicated UK MSP with vast experience in supporting organisations in highly regulated markets, we’re perfectly positioned to use this expertise to help business navigate an increasingly complex technology landscape.
“We’re confident our data center clients will benefit from Stellanor’s platform approach and DWS backing.
“We look forward to continuing to develop our partnership together and building on the strong ties we have built through this sales process.”
