New recruit joins Baines Jewitt
Teesside accountancy firm Baines Jewitt has appointed Henri Butler as trainee chartered accountant.
Henri, from Hutton Rudby, recently graduated from Durham University with a degree in Biological Sciences before making the move into accountancy.
Based at the firm’s Stockton office, he has started a three-year training programme working towards ACA qualification with the ICAEW, supported by Kaplan Financial.
Henri said: “Despite my science-based degree, a career in accountancy was always in the back of my mind.
“It was during my time at university that I decided to fully set my sights on it, hence the change in direction.
“My role at Baines Jewitt is my first full-time accountancy-related job, however I did gain some workplace experience as a hospitality bar supervisor at the Riverside Stadium after I graduated.”
Don Adams, director at Baines Jewitt, added: “Our firm is well over 100 years old and has an excellent reputation for quality, both in the work it produces and the high calibre people it employs.
“Yet despite the longevity of our firm, we know we have to plan for the future if we want our organisation to continue to grow.
“We’re delighted to welcome Henri to Baines Jewitt, who brings an excellent range of skills.
“We took the decision just over four years ago to keep the firm as an independent organisation and it is our desire that it will remain so for many years to come.
“Being independent means we can take a bespoke approach to each client’s needs and give them the personal attention they deserve.”
