Penfold appoints head of accounting partnerships
Digital workplace pension provider Penfold has appointed Sam Horner as head of accounting partnerships as it continues to strengthen support for accountants and advisers.
Sam brings more than 20 years’ experience across the accounting and SaaS sectors, having previously held senior partnership and business development roles at companies including Employment Hero, Swoop, Futrli and Receipt Bank.
In his new role, he will focus on building partnerships with accounting firms across the UK, helping them integrate workplace pensions into their wider advisory offering.
Sam said: “At Penfold, there’s a genuine focus on making life easier for accountants.
“Too often, pensions are seen as complex or disconnected from the rest of their services, which creates unnecessary friction.
“My goal is to change that – giving firms the tools, support and confidence to seamlessly integrate pensions into their offering, strengthen client relationships, and ultimately deliver a better financial future for their clients and their employees.”
Sam’s appointment reflects Penfold’s wider strategy to simplify pensions for accountants while supporting stronger long-term financial outcomes for businesses and employees.
Chris Eastwood, chief executive of Penfold, added: “Given Sam’s extensive background working closely with accountants and SaaS platforms, he brings a strong understanding of how to make new services both commercially viable and easy to adopt in practice.
“He will make an excellent addition to our partnerships team as we help accountants add greater value to their clients and unlock new opportunities, by turning pensions from something often overlooked into a practical, accessible part of their advisory role – while helping their clients’ employees achieve better retirement outcomes.”
