Scott Logic appoints chief executive
Software consultancy Scott Logic, headquartered in Newcastle, has appointed Russell Sloan as chief executive as the business enters its next phase of growth.
Russell joins the company on May 11, bringing more than 25 years’ experience across software consulting and IT services.
He was previously chief executive of Kainos, where he led major digital and data programmes with a strong focus on the public sector.
In his new role, he will lead Scott Logic’s continued growth strategy, supporting clients with bespoke software solutions and helping the business strengthen its use of AI and emerging technologies.
Russell said: “I am delighted to be joining Scott Logic, a company long recognised for its high-quality engineering and the calibre of its people.
“Its sustained success under private ownership, together with the significant opportunities ahead, makes this an exciting time to join.
“With a forward-looking approach to the application of AI and the agility that comes from being the right size of company to adapt in a changing market, Scott Logic is exceptionally well positioned for the future.
“I’m looking forward to helping shape the next phase.”
Founded by Gary Scott, who will continue as executive chair, the consultancy employs more than 350 people across six UK offices and is preparing for what it describes as the beginning of its third decade in business.
Gary added: “Russell is the right leader to take Scott Logic into its next chapter.
“His depth of experience in consulting, and his understanding of what it takes to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients, will help us build on the strengths that make Scott Logic special.
“As executive chair, I’ll continue to work closely with Russell and the executive board as we deliver our strategy and invest in the capabilities that will support sustainable growth, especially AI.”
