Tractor Tuesday rolls back into town
A family-friendly town centre event is returning to County Durham this half term with a showcase of agricultural and construction machinery.
Tractor Tuesday will return to Darlington town centre on Tuesday, May 26, sponsored by Lloyd Ltd.
Visitors will have the chance to get up close to a range of New Holland tractors, construction vehicles and agricultural equipment between 11am and 3pm.
For the first time, the machinery will be displayed along High Row and West Row, helping encourage visitors to explore nearby shops, cafes and restaurants during the event.
Families will also be able to climb aboard selected vehicles, while younger visitors can enjoy free toy ride-on tractors and colouring activities throughout the day.
David Greedy, dealer principal at Lloyd Ltd Bishop Auckland, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this event once again.
“It is always great to see so much interest and enthusiasm for the machinery which keeps our farmers working and helps to get food on the table, so we are looking forward to another busy Tractor Tuesday and to meeting more machinery fans of all ages!”
Councillor Chris McEwan, cabinet member for economy at Darlington Borough Council, added: “I would like to thank Lloyd Ltd for their continued support of this popular event which helps to highlight the importance of agriculture in all our lives.
“I look forward to seeing lots of families enjoying this event and taking the opportunity to visit our fantastic range of high street and independent shops, cafés and restaurants.
“The council plan sets out our ambition to create thriving places and connected communities across the borough and events like this play a part in that whilst also boosting the local economy.”
