Maintenance firm wins housing revamp contract
A building maintenance firm has bolstered its book with work on a £3 billion home improvement scheme.
Cardo Group has been named a delivery partner on social landlord L&Q’s Major Works Investment Programme.
Bosses say the 15-year venture will revamp properties across Stratford-headquartered L&Q’s portfolio – which includes homes in London, the Home Counties, the Midlands and the North West – to meet the Decent Homes Standard.
Cardiff-headquartered Cardo Group is set to deliver maintenance and retrofit works, with initial projects focused on fire remediation.
The wider programme also covers upgrades to kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs and communal spaces, energy efficiency improvements and mechanical and electrical works.
Liam Bevan, Cardo Group chief executive, said: “L&Q’s Major Works Investment Programme is a landmark investment and a real opportunity to improve the safety, comfort and environmental performance of residents’ homes and communities at scale.
“We are looking forward to working closely with L&Q and its partners.”
Mark Newstead, L&Q director of major programmes, added: “Cardo Group brings extensive experience in delivering large-scale planned maintenance and retrofit programmes within the housing sector.”
The work comes after Cardo Group expanded with a deal for Trident Maintenance Services, which it says has strengthened its presence across England and Scotland.
