Manufacturer eyes growth with 'significant' expansion
A laminate product maker says it is set to engineer further success after marking an operational milestone with a major expansion.
Lambson Innovate is moving to a 64,700sq ft base at Normanton Industrial Estate, on the outskirts of Castleford.
The site will replace a 23,700sq ft hub on Treefields Industrial Estate, in Gildersome, near Morley.
Bosses say the switch will allow the firm to grow market share by “bringing importing, container handling and customs clearance in-house for the first time”.
The move comes as the business – which makes parts including decorative panels, mouldings, internal doors, worktops and tabletops for leisure, marine and construction sector customers – celebrates its 60th anniversary.
David Bean, managing director of Lambson Innovate, which operates another site off Castleford’s Methley Road, said: “This expansion is a significant step forward.
“Bringing our importing, container handling and customs processes in-house will make our supply chain more efficient and resilient, and the additional space gives us room to extend new manufacturing processes.
“As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, this move provides the capability to grow market share, enter new markets and continue investing in smarter ways to serve our customers.”
The firm’s move was supported by landlord Towngate.
Tom Lamb, Towngate property director, added: “Lambson Innovate is exactly the kind of business we love supporting – a long-established British manufacturer with a clear growth plan.
“After six successful years together at Gildersome, it was a privilege to be the landlord they turned to when they needed to expand.”
