Agency helps shape regeneration projects
A branding and marketing agency is gaining recognition for its growing role in regeneration projects aimed at revitalising communities and town centres.
DS.Emotion, which has offices in Leeds, Manchester and London, has continued its expansion across the country following its work on the Hartlepool Production Village project, a major regeneration initiative designed to support growth in the North East’s film and media industry.
The award-winning branding and placemaking agency worked alongside Hartlepool Borough Council, TIME + SPACE and a range of regional stakeholders including The Hartlepool Board, Tees Valley Combined Authority, The Northern School of Art and North East Screen.
Backed by Government regeneration funding, the project aims to transform part of Hartlepool into a hub for film, television and digital production, creating jobs and boosting the local creative economy.
Bosses at DS.Emotion say the scheme reflects growing demand for place-focused branding and storytelling strategies designed to help towns and cities attract investment, visitors and new businesses.
Matt Button, co-founder of DS.Emotion, said: “We are delighted to be involved in this truly exciting project and can’t wait to engage fully with all stakeholders in the shaping of the narrative and brand driven campaigns for this amazing project; helping to shape Hartlepool’s future for generations to come.”
Following the Hartlepool project, the agency secured the branding contract for Our Cultural Heart in Huddersfield, a transformative regeneration programme led by Kirklees Council which is centred around a new cultural quarter featuring public spaces, entertainment venues, a food hall, library, museum and gallery.
DS.Emotion has also supported Bury Council with borough-wide regeneration branding work and has recently been commissioned to contribute to narrative and brand development linked to Bradford’s wider City Village regeneration plans.
Matt added: “With its multidisciplinary approach to branding, marketing and activation, DS.Emotion remains at the forefront of shaping memorable, commercially successful and socially meaningful places across the UK and overseas.”
