Wealth management firm Clarion appoints financial planner
Alderley Edge wealth management firm Clarion Wealth Planning has appointed Mike Barnes as financial planner as the business continues its expansion across the North West.
Mike joins the firm with experience from both national and regional financial planning businesses and brings a background as a qualified lawyer.
He said: “I have always been keen to take time to listen to and understand what my clients want, and this approach is something Clarion Wealth Planning are renowned for.
“Its technical expertise is second to none and I was especially drawn to the clarity it has about who it is and the types of individuals it is set-up to look after.
“This will resonate with both new and existing clients.”
Mike’s appointment follows significant growth for Clarion, which has reported a 33 per cent increase in funds under influence alongside rising revenues following a management buyout completed in 2024.
Clarion Wealth Planning, which now employs 18 people, said it plans to recruit further advisory and support roles over the next year as it continues to invest in growth and AI-driven operational improvements.
John Winstanley, managing director at Clarion Wealth Planning, added: “Mike is a great appointment for our business.
“He will work closely with me in managing several longstanding client relationships, ensuring continuity and the highest level of service.
“This collaboration will also help me dedicate more time to drive our strategic development and ensuring we continue to create better lives for our clients - supporting individuals and families to use their wealth to live well today, while also planning confidently for the next generation.”
