Carro keeps wedding memories in focus

A North East wedding photography business is continuing to grow despite the rise of artificial intelligence, as couples place increasing value on authentic human storytelling and lasting memories.

Wynyard-based Carro Weddings has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading wedding photography and videography firms, delivering up to 200 weddings a year across the UK and internationally.

Founded in 2013 by Michael Carro after leaving a career in supermarket management, the company now works across photography, videography and drone coverage, with projects spanning celebrity weddings, fashion events and collaborations with organisations including the BBC, Channel 4 and the NHS.

The firm, which won Yorkshire Wedding Videographer of the Year in 2025, says demand for high-quality photography and printed wedding albums continues to grow despite increasing use of AI tools across the wedding sector.

Michael, pictured below, said: “AI is excellent for efficiency, but weddings are about meaning.

“What we’re seeing is a premium being placed on human judgement, emotional intelligence and permanence, particularly through physical wedding albums that safeguard memories beyond platforms, clouds or trends.

“In many ways, AI has reinforced the value of what only people can do.”

Michael Carro, founder of Carro Weddings

Carro Weddings has become a preferred supplier at more than 50 venues across the North East and Yorkshire, building a reputation for reliability and attention to detail.

Each wedding produces at least 3000 edited images, with all files securely archived long-term to ensure couples can access their memories years later.

Alongside photography, the business has also expanded its cinematic videography offer, producing 4K wedding films designed to capture the emotion and atmosphere of the day.

Standout projects for the team have included a 500-guest wedding at Wynyard Hall and a fully themed Viking celebration at Langley Castle, while the company has also travelled internationally to capture ceremonies in destinations including Italy, Jersey and Las Vegas.

Michael adds that while technology continues to evolve, human instinct and emotional connection remain central to documenting life’s most important moments.

He added: “You can’t compete with something handmade with a human eye and a human understanding of what matters.

“We know how to capture the real moments as they happen.

“The nerves, the laughter, the speeches, the hugs, and the dancefloor without making your day feel like a photoshoot.”
