North East PR duo launch new agency
A North East communications consultancy has launched with ambitions to help organisations strengthen their brands, reputation and long-term visibility.
MCPR has been founded by Samuel Marriott-Dowding, managing director of Marriott Communications, alongside PR and communications consultant Chrissie Pringle, who brings more than 25 years’ experience delivering campaigns across sectors including hospitality, lifestyle and B2B.
The agency will provide services spanning strategic communications, media relations, brand positioning, thought leadership and reputation management, with a focus on long-term commercial impact and narrative development.
Formed in 2025 with support from Ben Quigley, entrepreneur and executive chair of Different Narrative, MCPR officially launches following its work on this year’s North East International Film Festival campaign, which received a ‘Highly Commended’ recognition at the 2026 Prolific North Champions Awards.
Samuel and Chrissie say the agency, which has a client portfolio that spans organisations such as the United Nations, Scottish Government and leading hospitality and lifestyle brands, was created in response to growing demand for communications support that extends beyond traditional PR activity.
MCPR plans to work across sectors including education, professional services, construction, energy, sustainability and digital media.
Samuel said: “We launched MCPR to create an agency that combines strategic clarity with creative execution.
“Too often, PR is focused on outputs rather than outcomes.
“Our approach is different - we work with organisations to shape perception, build authority, and deliver tangible commercial growth.”
Chrissie added: “Having worked across hospitality, lifestyle and B2B sectors for over 25 years, I’ve seen the value of communications done well.
“MCPR is about bringing that experience together in a way that is agile, senior-led, and focused on driving growth and we are grateful to Ben for all of his guidance and encouragement.”
