HaysMac expands offering with Green Square deal
A London-headquartered accountancy and advisory firm has strengthened its corporate finance offering through the acquisition of a specialist M&A advisory business.
HaysMac has bought corporate finance firm Green Square as part of plans to expand support for growth-focused businesses and business owners navigating transactions and change.
Green Square brings more than 20 years’ experience advising founder-led and investor-backed companies on mergers and acquisitions across sectors including media, marketing and technology.
The deal enhances HaysMac’s in-house corporate finance capabilities, allowing clients to access integrated support spanning tax, audit, transaction services and private client advice alongside strategic M&A expertise.
Bosses say the move supports HaysMac’s long-term strategy of helping ambitious businesses manage complex transactions and create long-term value.
Jon Dawson, partner and head of sectors and markets at HaysMac, said: “Bringing Green Square into the firm broadens the advice we can offer ambitious businesses and investors.
“It embeds dedicated transaction expertise within HaysMac and enhances how we support founders, leadership teams and stakeholders across a wider range of situations and growth stages.”
Tony Walford and Barry Dudley, partners at Green Square, added: “Green Square has always been focused on helping founders and shareholders make confident decisions at pivotal moments in their lives.
“Joining HaysMac allows us to build on that purpose, working as part of a larger advisory firm that shares our commitment to quality, relationships and long-term outcomes.
“Together, we can support more businesses across a wider range of situations, with the depth and breadth of expertise that clients increasingly value.”
The acquisition follows a busy year for the HaysMac, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and completed the acquisition of Moore DM’s US tax team to strengthen its international offering.
Natasha Frangos, managing partner at HaysMac, added: “This acquisition is an important milestone for HaysMac and achieves our strategic ambition to deepen our transaction advisory capabilities.
“We have known and worked with the team at Green Square for many years and so I know our culture and values are aligned.
“Green Square has an outstanding reputation for supporting owners and shareholders through complex, high-value transactions, and their expertise perfectly complements our existing strength in advising growth focused and investor backed businesses.
“Bringing Green Square into the firm builds on what we already do best: combining rigorous thinking with a genuinely people‑centred approach.
“This bolsters our capability so we can support stronger outcomes and long‑term value for our clients and their stakeholders.
“It underpins our purpose at HaysMac – For Business. For People. For Good. – and how we support clients through meaningful, long‑term decisions.”
