Cavendish appoints Scotland government relations lead
Communications and public affairs consultancy Cavendish has appointed Peter White as head of government relations for Scotland as the business continues to strengthen its UK-wide public affairs offering.
Based in Scotland, Peter will lead Cavendish’s government relations activity north of the border, supporting clients engaging with the Scottish Government and parliamentarians at Holyrood.
He brings a decade of experience working within and alongside government, including roles advising on Brexit and foreign affairs, alongside senior private secretary positions spanning both UK and devolved government.
Peter has also advised major financial services organisations on navigating political and policy developments across both Westminster and Scotland.
He said: “Scotland’s policy landscape is evolving rapidly, and the interaction between Holyrood and Westminster has never been more important.
“Having worked inside government and alongside policymakers across the UK, I understand how decisions are really made and how influence is built over time.
“I’m excited to be leading Cavendish’s government relations work in Scotland and helping clients engage effectively with decision‑makers to advance their policy priorities.”
Peter’s appointment strengthens Cavendish’s ability to provide integrated insight across devolved and reserved policy areas as sectors including energy, infrastructure, financial services and food and drink face an increasingly complex political and regulatory environment.
James Bird, head of government relations at Cavendish, added: “Peter’s appointment marks a significant step forward for Cavendish’s government relations offer.
“Having senior expertise based in Scotland gives our clients true four‑nations coverage for the first time, while strengthening how our UK public affairs teams work together across devolved and reserved policy areas.”
