Scotbuild rebrands as SB Services and launches M&E division
Highland construction company Scotbuild has rebranded as SB Services as part of a wider expansion strategy that includes the launch of a dedicated mechanical and electrical (M&E) division and three senior appointments.
The move brings together Scotbuild and Calder Electrical under a single SB Services brand following their acquisition by UK energy and infrastructure group Global in 2024.
The newly launched M&E division will work alongside the company’s existing joinery, plumbing and decorating teams, providing integrated services across the commercial, industrial, energy and residential sectors.
To support the expansion, SB Services has appointed Paul Richardson as mechanical operations manager and John MacPherson as compliance and technical manager, bringing a combined 60 years of experience within the M&E sector.
Managing director Daniel Cormack said: “This is an exciting milestone for the business which is now unified under one brand.
“The launch of SB Services and our new mechanical division strengthens our ability to deliver larger and more complex projects across the North of Scotland.
“We’ve built a strong team with the right experience, accreditations and local presence and we’re looking forward to continuing that growth with both existing and new clients.
“We’re delighted to launch our new M&E division and unveil Paul and John as two key appointments, these vastly experienced leaders in the mechanical and electrical field strengthens our existing capability in this area and establishes us as a truly integrated services provider.
“The creation of this new division is a strategic step that complements our existing electrical and plumbing and heating capabilities, enhancing our position as an integrated MEP services provider.”
Paul added: “I’m delighted to be joining SB Services at such an exciting stage in the company’s growth.
“There is a clear vision for building a strong, fully integrated MEP offering across the North of Scotland, and I’m looking forward to helping develop the Mechanical division alongside the wider team.
“The business already has an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and client service and the addition of dedicated mechanical capability creates significant opportunities across the
commercial, industrial, energy and residential sectors.”
SB Services has also appointed Chris Ogg as operations manager, where he will focus on operational performance and project delivery as the company continues to scale.
Daniel added: “Chris is a fantastic addition to the business and brings a wealth of operational experience, strong leadership and a practical understanding of project delivery.
“As SB Services continues to grow, it’s important that we continue investing in the right people and structures to support that growth.
“Chris will play a key role in helping drive operational performance, supporting our teams on the ground and ensuring we continue to deliver the high standards of service our clients expect from us.”
