Whisper appoints strategic sales director to drive global growth
Global production company Whisper, headquartered in London, has appointed Chris Hatton as strategic sales director as the company looks to accelerate international expansion and diversify its commercial offering.
Chris joins with more than 20 years’ experience across global technology and media businesses including Apple, Google, YouTube and Amazon, where he led large-scale commercial growth and partnership strategies.
In his new role, he will oversee Whisper’s global sales strategy, working alongside regional leadership teams to develop new revenue opportunities across sport, branded entertainment, gaming, unscripted content, AI and data technology.
His background includes launching Amazon Advertising’s global gaming and esports sponsorships business and leading global strategic partnerships for YouTube Spaces Studios across ten international studios.
Chris said: “Whisper has built something genuinely extraordinary as a creative force that thinks and moves like a high-growth tech company.
“The biggest opportunities in our industry lie at the convergence of premium sport, entertainment, and emerging technology, and Whisper is already leading at that critical intersection.
“The ambition here is infectious and I can’t wait to help drive the next phase of growth.”
The appointment forms part of Whisper’s wider growth strategy as the independent production company continues to expand internationally and strengthen its commercial capabilities following its return to full private ownership earlier this year.
Mark Cole, chief growth officer at Whisper, added: “Chris is a heavyweight hire who understands the intersection of premium entertainment and emerging technology better than anyone in the industry.
“As we accelerate our global expansion, his experience at the likes of Amazon, Apple and Google will be invaluable.
“Chris has a proven ability to find disruptive commercial paths and scale operations at pace; he is the perfect fit for our culture and will be instrumental in driving our commercial model for this next chapter.”
