Wilson Mason duo qualify as architects
Wilson Mason Architects is celebrating after Emma Spencer and John Lewis successfully completed their architectural training to become fully qualified architects.
The pair have now officially registered with the Architects Registration Board following seven years of study and practical training with the practice.
Emma joined Wilson Mason as a Part 1 architectural assistant in 2021 while studying at Liverpool John Moores University and has since worked on projects including a new student building at Liverpool Hope University and the Leyland town centre masterplan.
She said: “Qualifying as an architect is a proud moment that has given me a real sense of achievement.
“Working on live projects alongside my studies has allowed me to gain valuable experience across design, delivery and collaboration, and I’m looking forward to taking on more responsibility within the team.”
John joined the practice in 2022 after completing his Part 2 studies at London Metropolitan University and has contributed to projects including advanced manufacturing facilities, conservation works at Bolton Town Hall and a major school extension scheme.
John added: “It’s a combination of pride and relief but ultimately, it’s satisfying to finally be able to call myself a qualified architect.
“I’ve particularly enjoyed the variety of work at Wilson Mason and the chance to contribute to technically demanding and heritage-related projects.”
Wilson Mason, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026, operates from offices in Preston and London and works across sectors including education, healthcare, industrial, science and research.
James Potter, partner at Wilson Mason, added: “It’s been wonderful to see Emma and John growing and developing with us over the years.
“Seeing them reach this important milestone is a proud moment for the whole team and we now look forward to both of them continuing to develop their knowledge and grow their careers with Wilson Mason.”
