Mystery parcel craze comes to Bradford
A Bradford shopping centre is set to host a treasure hunt-style retail experience featuring thousands of lost parcels.
King Colis will bring its travelling mystery parcel pop-up to The Broadway Bradford from June 1 to June 7, marking the company’s first event in Yorkshire.
The concept, which recently visited Newcastle’s Eldon Square, gives shoppers the chance to buy unopened undelivered parcels by weight, with packages potentially containing anything from gadgets and fashion accessories to luxury items and collectables.
Visitors will have ten minutes to select parcels, which are priced at £2.50 per 100 grams, before discovering their contents after purchase.
Previous events have seen shoppers uncover high-value prizes including designer goods and gold bars.
Killian Denis, chief executive and co-founder of King Colis, said: “We are thrilled to bring King Colis to Yorkshire for the very first time.
“Since launching in the UK, the response has been incredible, and it has been amazing to watch customers experience the excitement of uncovering surprise treasures hidden inside every parcel.
“Every package has a story.
“Some contain practical everyday items, while others reveal extraordinary finds.
“We can’t wait to see what treasures shoppers in Bradford discover.”
Founded in 2023, King Colis specialises in rescuing lost parcels from destruction and has saved more than 2000 tonnes of packages through its circular economy model.
The week-long pop-up will be located in front of Next at The Broadway, with organisers expecting strong demand following the brand’s growing popularity across Europe and the UK.
Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, added: “We are delighted to host King Colis’ first-ever Yorkshire pop-up and bring this exciting and sustainable shopping experience to Bradford.
“The launch has generated a great deal of anticipation, and we look forward to seeing what hidden treasures our visitors uncover.”
