Renewable energy firm powers on with takeover
A renewable energy and consultancy firm has expanded with a takeover.
Gensource has bought Solar Kingdom for an undisclosed sum.
Bosses say the move for the Perth-based operator will strengthen Gensource’s presence across Scotland’s home, commercial and public sector energy markets.
They add all jobs and assets have been retained, with Solar Kingdom owner Gregor Thake joining Gensource as technical delivery director.
Headquartered in Musselburgh, Gensource’s portfolio includes solar panel, battery storage system, electric vehicle charging point and air source heat pump installation across the business and residential sectors.
Solar Kingdom is known for solar panel and battery storage system installation.
Josh King, Gensource managing director, said: “Solar Kingdom has built a trusted reputation in home energy over many years.
“Bringing that expertise into the group strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality residential solar, storage, electric vehicle charging and heat pumps across Scotland.
“We’re not changing what customers value – we’re scaling it.”
Gregor added: “When this opportunity came along, it was one I couldn’t ignore.
“I’m looking forward to strengthening the offering from Gensource.”
