Ardent strengthens Scottish team with senior hire
Land, stakeholder and consents specialist Ardent has appointed Gavin Falconer as senior associate director as it continues to expand its operations across Scotland.
Based in the firm's Glasgow office, Gavin brings more than 20 years of experience in the property and infrastructure sectors, with expertise spanning strategic land management, renewable energy and major project delivery.
He joins from Forestry and Land Scotland, where he served as head of renewables and oversaw one of the UK’s largest renewable energy land portfolios, including 1.4GW of operational onshore wind capacity and a development pipeline of 3.5GW.
Gavin has also worked across valuation, commercial property management and large-scale infrastructure projects, and currently serves as a tribunal member for the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
Gavin said: “This is a really exciting time to join Ardent. Scotland’s infrastructure and development sectors are facing significant change, but that also creates major opportunities for businesses that can provide strategic insight and help projects continue moving forward.
“Ardent has built a strong reputation for supporting complex projects across infrastructure and energy.
“What really appealed to me was the opportunity to join a business with deep technical expertise, while still maintaining a collaborative and agile approach.
“There is a clear ambition within the Scotland team to continue growing and expanding its capabilities across the market.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team on a broad range of projects and helping clients navigate increasingly complex challenges around land, risk and project delivery.”
Gavin’s appointment supports Ardent's continued growth across infrastructure, transport, utilities and renewable energy projects, strengthening its ability to help clients navigate increasingly complex land, planning and delivery challenges.
Since opening its Scotland office in 2022, Ardent has expanded its presence across the country, supporting major public and private sector projects.
Gillian Lang, head of Scotland at Ardent, added: “Gavin’s appointment is a significant addition to our Scottish business and reflects our long-term ambitions for growth across Scotland’s infrastructure and development sectors.
“He brings exceptional experience across infrastructure, property and strategic land management, alongside valuable client-side insight from major renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
“As projects across Scotland face increasing pressure around policy, grid reform and delivery risk, clients are looking for strategic partners who can help maintain momentum and provide greater certainty around land and viability.
“Gavin’s expertise will play an important role in supporting that.”
