Breck strengthens North West team
Northern property developer Breck Homes has strengthened its North West team with the appointment of an experienced contracts manager and the promotion of a land specialist as the business continues to grow.
Phil Silcock has joined as contracts manager, bringing more than 25 years of construction experience.
He joins from Anwyl Homes, where he most recently served as area construction manager, and has also held senior roles with Countryside and Seddon Homes.
Phil said: “Since the company’s launch, Breck has made a real mark on the affordable housing market, developing a strong reputation for bringing sites to market quickly and delivering to a high quality.
“The company’s continued expansion will require experienced management across an increasing number of live sites and it’s an exciting team to join Breck and use my knowledge to support this.”
Alongside the appointment, James Fairhurst has been promoted from assistant land manager to land manager.
Having joined Breck around two years ago, he will take on greater responsibility for identifying and securing land opportunities for future developments.
James added: “Breck has a growing pipeline of sites with 15 planning applications submitted in total last year.
“We’re looking to continue to build on that number, therefore finding the right type of land in locations where we can develop consistently is key.
“I’m looking forward to supporting this in my new role as the company expands its footprint across the North.”
Their appointments support Breck’s continued expansion across the North, where it is currently delivering around 500 homes in partnership with housing associations including Places for People, Progress Housing Group, Jigsaw, Torus and Incommunities.
The Lancashire-founded company opened a Leeds office in 2025 and recently began construction on its first Yorkshire development in Bradford.
Phil Dolan, managing director (North West) Breck Homes, said: “Since Breck’s formation six years ago, we have already handed over more than 1000 homes across the North West.
“We’re continuing to grow rapidly through the delivery of high-quality affordable housing at increasingly large sites.
“This growth is reliant on our ability to secure the right type of land in areas of high demand then work with our partners to build high-quality homes, helping to address the need for affordable housing across the region. Investing in our team is a vital part of this.
“I’ve worked with Phil previously and he has a strong reputation in the construction industry.
“He has already made an immediate positive impact on the sites he has taken on and has been a welcome addition by the Breck team and our subcontractors and suppliers.
“Meanwhile, James has really impressed us during his time with Breck through his industry knowledge and partnership approach with our clients.
“Both Phil and James are true professionals and great ambassadors for the Breck Homes business.
“I look forward to working with them and watching them grow into their new roles as the business continues its own exciting growth plans.”
