Commsworld appoints first chief revenue officer
Commsworld has appointed Melony Buchanan as its first chief revenue officer, strengthening the leadership team as the network provider pursues further growth across the UK.
In the newly created role, Melony will lead the Edinburgh-headquartered company’s revenue strategy, with a focus on geographic expansion, partnership development and the continued evolution of its service offering for public and private sector customers.
She brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology and communications sector, having held senior leadership positions ranging from regional sales director to managing director.
Most recently, she was client partner for local and regional partnerships at Capita, where she led strategy and delivery across its public sector portfolio.
She also previously served as managing director of the Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN).
Melony said: “I am proud to be joining Commsworld at a pivotal time in the company’s evolution.
“I have been impressed in recent years by the way in which Commsworld has secured major contracts and delivered exceptional value for customers.
“I believe that Commsworld is uniquely positioned to support the public and private sector in tackling some of the biggest UK challenges.
“These include safer social housing, digital exclusion, public service re-design, and business resilience – not because of our national infrastructure and valued propositions, but because we place customers at the heart of what we do, delivering affordable, reliable connectivity.”
Melony’s appointment reflects Commsworld's ambition to strengthen its position as a leading connectivity provider while expanding its reach and supporting customers with increasingly tailored digital infrastructure solutions.
Steve Langmead, chief executive of Commsworld, added: “I am delighted to welcome Melony to Commsworld as our first chief revenue officer, an important new role for the company.
“We have achieved so much over the last few years, especially in terms of long-term public sector contracts, doubling our turnover in five years from £20 million to £40 million.
“I now want Commsworld to more than double that again over the next five years.
“Melony will be a very important driving force behind ensuring we continue to exceed customer needs in a world of ever-increasing demand for reliable, resilient and efficient outcome-based connectivity across the UK.”
