Dizplai appoints US sports industry veteran

Manchester-headquartered audience engagement specialist Dizplai has appointed sports executive Christian Matthews to support its commercial operations in the United States as it accelerates international growth.

Christian, alongside his consultancy Matthews Advisory, will help the business expand its presence across the US sports and media market, supporting teams, leagues and publishers looking to strengthen audience engagement and unlock new revenue opportunities.

He joins with extensive experience across sport, media and commercial strategy, most recently serving in a senior commercial leadership role with Formula 1 team Williams Racing. 

Before that, he spent almost a decade with NFL franchise the Washington Commanders, where he led commercial strategy and revenue-generating initiatives.

Christian said: “The North American sports landscape is experiencing a massive shift in how value is generated. 

“Right now, there is a clear commercial blind spot around the ‘active’ fan. 

“Leagues and franchises generate massive attention, but they are failing to capture the data and direct relationships behind it. Dizplai’s technology provides that missing interactive layer, converting passive viewership into measurable commercial assets. 

“Having worked within both the NFL and F1 ecosystems, I know exactly how hungry teams and brands are for this level of audience monetization, and I’m thrilled to anchor our growth in this critical market.”

Christian’s appointment comes as Dizplai looks to build its global footprint and help organisations move beyond traditional broadcasting models towards more interactive, data-driven fan experiences.

Founded in Manchester, Dizplai works with sports, media and entertainment organisations to create audience engagement strategies that generate deeper fan connections and commercial value.
