Global Procurement Group names commercial chief
Gateshead-headquartered Global Procurement Group has promoted Leah Barrett to chief commercial officer, placing her in charge of commercial operations across Northern Gas and Power, ClearVUE and the wider group.
Leah joined Northern Gas and Power in 2016 and has progressed through a series of senior leadership roles, gaining experience across sales, supplier negotiations, account delivery, governance and operational performance.
In her new role, she will oversee sales performance, customer acquisition strategy, commercial governance and revenue delivery across the business.
Leah said: “This business has grown enormously over the years, and I’ve had the privilege of growing with it.
“I’ve seen what it takes to build strong teams, look after customers, and keep delivering consistently as the business grows.
“Across Northern Gas and Power, ClearVUE and the wider Group, we’ve got fantastic people, strong customer relationships, and a business that’s been built the right way over many years.
“As chief commercial officer, my focus is making sure we keep building on that, keep supporting our teams, staying close to our customers, and continuing to deliver the standards we're known for as we grow internationally.
“I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
Leah’s appointment comes during a period of international growth for Global Procurement Group, which now operates across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and India, supporting customers with energy procurement, carbon reduction and energy technology solutions.
Group chief executive Fokhrul Islam added: “Leah represents exactly what we want our leadership to look like.
“Someone who has grown with the business, raised the standard at every stage, and built strong teams around her.
“This appointment was a natural step.”
Global people director Scott High added: “Leah’s career with GPG has been defined by delivery, not only managing commercial performance but consistently raising the standard of how we operate.
“Leah has shaped high-performing teams, built robust governance structures, and driven results.
“What stands out about Leah’s progression is that it has been built through real commercial delivery at every stage.
“From frontline sales leadership to designing the operational infrastructure that underpins our growth today, her experience is grounded in execution, not theory.
“For our customers and partners, this appointment means the Group’s commercial direction is being led by someone who genuinely understands every layer of how we deliver.”
